Aims & Scope:

PJLO stands as a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to otolaryngology and head and neck surgery. The journal is committed to promoting the widespread sharing of scientific knowledge and facilitating the exchange of experiences at both the national and international levels. Our principal objective is to offer a platform for clinicians and researchers from Pakistan and neighboring regions to present their local and regional data.

Beyond this, our mission extends to nurturing the sharing of insights and innovations within the realm of otorhinolaryngology and head and neck surgery. By fostering this collaborative knowledge-sharing, we aim to enhance understanding of disease patterns in the region and contribute to the formulation of treatment guidelines.

Professor Syed Khalid Ahmed Ashrafi

Dr. S. Khalid Ashrafi is a professor of Otorhinolaryngology (ORL) – Head-and-Neck Surgery at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (the teaching hospital of Karachi Medical and Dental College). He currently serves as the President of the Pakistan Society of Otorhinolaryngology. He is a founding member of the Sindh Healthcare Commission. He graduated from DOW Medical College, University of Karachi and later obtained a postgraduate certification in ORL from the same university.

He obtained fellowship and membership certifications in otorhinolaryngology – head-and-neck surgery from the College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan, as well as fellowships from the Royal College of Glasgow and the UAE board. By background, he is a medical educationist with a certification from the College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan. He served as principal and chairman academic council, Karachi Medical and Dental College. He is an invited speaker nationally and internationally. He is involved in clinical research. He is the author of numerous peer-reviewed publications with national and international citations.
